Milestones are dated from the journal. Syncing an article onto this site is not a new publication.

  1. KRXY Research

A second Pi doubled batch throughput, not answer speed

Part 6 adds a CPU-only Raspberry Pi 5 next to the Hailo node. Paired Qwen2.5 3B jobs finished in about the time of one, but no single answer got faster, and splitting one answer across both failed its validation.

Work dated 28 and 29 October 2026. A second Raspberry Pi 5 with 16 GB RAM and no Hailo accelerator ran the same pinned CPU builds as the first node. Two overlapping 512-token jobs reached about 12.2 output tokens per second of batch throughput, against about 5.9 for one request, while each job still took around 83 s of compute. An unexplained outage, a node_busy admission race and unverified remote power controls are recorded as open issues. No training was run. See the two-node measurements and read Part 6 on Hashnode.

Answers were measured before choosing a model

Part 5 records stored evaluations and a frozen hold-out on one Pi. A larger 3B candidate passed more cases but did not meet the promotion rule, so the default stayed on Hailo.

Work dated 25 to 27 October 2026, still on one physical Raspberry Pi. The record includes a model evaluation area, a frozen 24-case hold-out across three deployments, a model library that separates installed, ready and default models, and a fix for chat replies cut off at 256 tokens. Read Part 5 on Hashnode.

  3. KRXY Research

Scheduling started to care which model a node could run

Part 4 records model-aware routing. It also says there was still one physical Raspberry Pi.

  4. KRXY Research

The node gained an identity and a heartbeat

Part 3 records the move from an anonymous board to a node the coordinator can recognise.

  5. KRXY Research

One Raspberry Pi node was commissioned

Part 2 records 24 October 2026: one Pi, one identity, one short reply, and no training step.

  6. KRXY Research

The plan was published before the hardware ran

Part 1 of Building KRXY sets out the question and the node design. It is a plan, not a measurement.
